Security on version 1.4X of WebOS on the Palm Pre and Pixi is permanently broken.
This means that if you have this phone, someone can remotely access any information (contacts, email, etc.) and completely take over your phone.

It can be easily duplicated if you want to confirm, but this renders these phones useless.
Sprint will give an early upgrade discount if you bring this to their attention (normally you would have to wait until your contract is up). It's only about a $100 discount though and I think the phone should be completely replaced because this is not the consumers fault! I'm still kind of pissed off, but glad I was able to afford a new phone.

Angry Seriously, this is the type of thing that leads to a class action law suit! It probably will, but in the meantime, here are the instructions I followed to get my discount. The Sprint staff said they would notify the higher ups about it so hopefully Sprint will come up with a more formal solution. It's really HP's fault IMO!  Angry
