Did the 800 have data and messaging and all that?
No it did not, but even with all the added items (as it used to be menued out to you) making the plan basically an everything plan we are still coming out cheaper with three phones. Three phones now will run us (only based on the 450 everything plan's pricing) $209.97 and thats BEFORE adding equip replacement and taxes. So, we are looking at a cell phone bill in the neighborhood of $200-250/month. It will definitely be an adjustment, that's for sure.

Did you look at any of the family plans? I don't know the pricing but I would guess it'd be a little cheaper for your needs.

Yes, I went back and checked the family plans.
3 phones, 1500 minutes shared will run us 149.98 plus e-replacement which puts us at $170.98. Still around $200/month, but definitely cheaper than the other option.
1500 minutes is such a joke. With the increase in text messaging, my phone hardly rings anymore.

They have a really unusual system. Because they have all these specialized individualized plans depending on hardware. Even their system is goofy about it. My friend recently upgraded from a sidekick to a G1, and the Store rep is like "We have to switch your network from the Sidekick Network to the G1 network, so your phone won't work for a few hours." When he told me that I was like "LOLwut?"

Sprint....ok : but it's the everything plan that gots me sold. I pay around $200 a month with net card, and everything insured... so let me say that it blows that we (loyal Sprint Customers) will not be getting a break for the new pre. I mean as far as i know that is my understanding. well anyways I'm sticking with sprint...

I am a Sprint Manager, feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns you might have regarding the plans/services. BTW, I didnt see anything mentioned in here, but the PRE will only allowed to be activated on a EVERYTHING DATA/MSGING PLAN. Ind or Fam, same requirements as with the Instinct.

I would like to say I have 5 phones on my plan. I have the Family shared 1500 unlimited data plan. I also have the insurance on all phones, and I end up paying 211 per month. I do have to mention I get a discount because of where I work, so you may want to look into that as well, what discounts are available to you. I also pay the extra for nights starting at 6, and I have never gone over my plan minutes and two of the phones belong to kids. They text like crazy, but no worries, it is unlimited.
