Due to all the fuss about having to swap to a new plan (for some) in order to activate a Pixi, here’s a breakdown of the plans it can be activated on - both with the standard price AND the price with a NVP/Employer discount. As posted before, anyone can qualify for the credit union member NVP discount automatically, which is a 10% discount no questions asked - but you can of course qualify for much more, by having a different employer’s discount - Not that I advocate being dishonest about your employer for discount purposes, but a LOT of companies do business with Sprint/Nextel, so many people are very surprised to know they already qualify for 15%, 20%, 25%, or 27% already.

Here’s how the plan pricing looks, standard and with discounts. Yellow is the standard MRC (Monthly Recurring Charge) and then the NVP Discounts to the right, with 27% first, all the way to the 10% in the final column.

Tried the comment on the blog but didn't work.

You might be eligible for a discount if you're a student as well
Go here http://www.evpdiscount.com/
Throw in your school-based email address and see if you qualify, they will send you emails on how to set up the discount to the address you enter.

I'm not sure if this goes here, but it is somewhat related.  On the Sprint site, if you go to the Pixi product page, in the small disclosure writing, it says "currently activated on a service plan of $39.99 or higher may be eligible", this is different than the $69.99 rate previously stated.  Anyone know what this means?  If that is the case is there any $39.99 plan available with unlimited data?

I get a 10% discount for being a member of a credit union.  I'm not sure they even asked WHICH credit union to be honest.  Doesn't hurt knowing which are in your area though.

Just called in to try and get the credit union discount and the agent was confused and didn't really know how to enter this in the system. Anyone else have this issue?  What did you do to get the credit?

Not completely sure BUT I think you have to do it when you sign up for sprint.

Again, not sure.

i was just wondering about that credit union discount.  Can you add it to an employer discount?  Right now i get 25% off for the Delta/Northwest airlines.  Would I be able to combine these for 35% off?
