Ok...So I'm looking on ebay and even craigslist and im seeing the Palm Pixi for WAAAY cheaper than offered at Sprint...

I have a question.

If I buy a brand new Palm Pixi from ebay, will I be able to add insurance to the device once I activate it? Seeing how I wouldnt be purchasing it straight from Sprint myself it would not be under my name therefore I can see Sprint now telling me that I cant add the $5 insurance policy to the Pixi since I did not purchase it directly from them.

Any help? Im dying to know, and it'll really save me over 100 bucks.

Thanks in advance

yes, you can add the insurance regardless where you got the device...

just a heads up when buying a phone from craiglist or ebay. Make sure the ESN is clean. If the device is brand new, then it should be fine. but if it was used at any point and they didnt finish paing their bill, the device wont be transferred to your acct until the debt is settled with sprint.

If the seller gives your the ESN, you can call sprint or do the online chat to check if its clean/clear!

Good luck!

Thank you,

I already bought the item and it is brand new, sealed in Sprint retail box and with a clean ESN.

I will be deactivating my HTC Touch semi-Pro and activating my Palm Pixi by the end of this week Shocked

EDIT: Oh and I got it for $300 no new contract necessary....beat that Sprint!

wow thats cheap...  makes me wonder if the 7 i pay a month for insurrance is work it.  I figure in 2 years i've paid like $168 in insurrance and if i broke my phone theres a 100 dollara deductible so thats 268 if i replaced it once.  Thats almost 300 right there.  Maybe i should just chance it seeing as how the price of the phone on ebay will go down every few months i would think.

I have been debating back and forth about the insurance too.  I am still in my 30 days so I can add it.  They said it covers repairs too.  i want to just because I am on my third pre and after the 30 days are up i am not going to be able to return it anymore when it breaks.  Then with the 100 dollar deductible I dont know if its really worth it.  I hate deductibles.
