We are approaching the launch of the palm pre, and im kinda thinkin twice. i'm not hatin on it but, it doesn't really do the whole reason i wanted a new phone to do. I'm still hooked on the pre, so i kinda want someone to say somethin to make me a bit more confident about it if i still was to purchase it. i've been looking for news on the pre multiple times a day for the past few months so it would really be a disappointment if i didnt get it. from what i can gather here is the plus's of both. correct me if im wrong on any of it.

Treo Pro- Memory stick slot, video recording, supports flash, Tethering, cheaper(walmart $99), camera has zoom, I hear winmo supports zip files and i use them quite a bit. i think there is a tv out cable

Pixi- Bigger Screen, Newer, looks better, multitouch, multitask, better camera w/ flash, probably better apps?

the pre isnt out yet so im not trying to judge it to early, i just need to know if i need to be in line june 6, i know the pre will have updates(maybe for video capture, flash support?) but noone knows when. i'm also not real big on the whole facebook/twitter/myspace scene so idc for the synergy stuff.

It's cool dude. Here's a full review of it by a great source. I'm a fan of Noah, he always has great unboxing videos, hands on videos, and reviews.

Noah FTW! I'm looking forward to his Pixi hands on.

Really what it comes down to is what is the best phone for your needs. If the Treo Pro has everything you need to be happy...by all means, get it. I have a friend who still prefers a phone that can only do what a phone is supposed to...make and receive calls. Until his most recent upgrade his didn't even have a camera. Plus if you decide on a Treo Pro, that will leave one more Pixi for someone else Wink

Exactly, take whatever you feel fits you most! I personally don't care sooo much about Synergy either.. a Google sync for contacts and calendar would be enough for me. For me it's all about the notifications, multitasking and calendar/tasks.

Just watch the videos closely and take your time to decide.

Windows Mobile has a lot of support. I've been using a Treo 700wx for 2 years, the phone has lasted me through quite a lot, my reason for going to the Pixi is because I'm a bit tired of WinMo and its interface, and the pre will be my first full-screen device so it's gonna be kinda all new to me.

thanks for the responses!, i also use phonedog, Noah is awesome! ill probably still stick with the pre, but im still pondering. the next phone i get ill probably keep for a while so looking at winmo on the treo pro kinda looks outdated next to the pre. so i guess i can live with waiting for updates to the pre(flash & video capture). how likely do you think there will eventually be an app for tethering?
