In the training video, the guy double taps to zoom in and out of the webpage... I thought it was similar to the iphone gesture where you use two fingers to zoom in and out. Did this change?

You can do both, double-tapping and pinching. If you do the tapping, the browser automatically adjusts to the content you tapped on.. it's supposedly very comfortable.

i just watched this video and when i saw this I cackled out loud like broom hilda.....pinch technology is copyrighted by iphone, right?  so all they had to do is reword the gesture and not even discuss it or show it, although I bet you my touchstone the pre still has pinch to zoom technology.  This has got to be the smartest chess move I've seen so far.  They were able to get it out there at the CES and anything before hand while the they were not making any revenue off of the product....they know, however once the units begin to sell (for profit) they cannot use that type of wording!!  OMG palm has some smart ass attorneys working for them...

The double tap thing is standard in mobile webkit. I just recently started using Iris Web Browser on my Treo which is a Webkit based browser and the double-tap does that. Since my Treo is not multitouch I can't tell you if a "pinch" would work.

They can always try rewording the application of gesture, since the Pixi uses a Projected Capacitive screen, I'm sure it works slightly differently than how the iPhone's capacitive interface interacts with the browser. It's a waiting game, remember that Apple is infringing on a lot more of Palm's patents than Palm is on Apple's.
