I love the Pixi but am really disappointed at the calendar.  I had the treo 755p for a couple of years prior to the pre and guess I became dependent on the functionality of the calendar - I have already missed three appointments because I missed the notification given on the Pixi....I hate that I can not look at stuff going on a month at a time, or even a week at a time!  Hopefully they will come out with some kind of update or a better calendar application I can download.  Oh yeah, the most noticeably absent from this phone compared to the treo is that the calendar is not synced with the contacts birthdays - why the hell not?  I have to look up every contact to see their b-days?Huh?  Makes no sense.

you can see where you have appts in the weekly or monthly views; tap the view choice buttons mid bottom of the calendar app. just would be too small to see if tried to put print on the weekly or monthly views.

I guess, but this is still ridiculous compared to the treo.....i'll just have to get used to it i guess because everything else is better for sure.

I must agree with you as well.  I love the Pixi, but coming from a 755p as well, the calendar was a bit more user friendly.

The treo used palmOS correct?

If so, buy classic and use that calender until the pre's is up to snuff. Tada!!!

Hi folks, I am not a Pixi user yet - I hope to be this Saturday.
I am a past user of the 755P - I really liked the desktop application that came with the 755P.
Does the Pixi come with anything like what the Treo had?
My Pixi will be used primarily for data collection.
I need to print out the calendar (daily and monthly views), tasks, memos, etc.

Will I be happy with the Pixi or should I go back to the 755P?

Best,
Nu

I love the Pixi for everything BUT the things you need.  The calendar is ridiculous compared to the Treo 755p and the tasks and memos are not as good either.  There is an application you can download on the Pixi that evidently allows you to use the applications from the Treo, but I have not taken that step so can not tell you if it works well or not.  I am just hoping for an update or another calendar app.  Good luck.

Two weeks ago, I too switched from a 755p to a Pixi. I have one more problem with the Pixi, and it's almost a deal breaker.

Treo allows you to specify time zones for calendar events. Pixi does not!

I just returned home from a trip that started in EDT (Boston), went on to MST (Phoenix; Arizona doesn't change the clock for DST), then to CDT (Dallas). Some of my calendar entries were for events in each place, and the Pixi kept changing the times to the local time zone, to the point where I was completely confused. I ended up depending on an old-fashion paper calendar.

The Pixi is supposed to be a Blackberry-killer and a road-warrior tool, but you can't be a road-warrior if your Pixi can't keep your appointments straight.

I went from Treo 300/600/650/700p to the Pixi.  There is SO much functionality missing that I still have my Treo 700p.  I don't want to have two devices!  Where's the bluetooth file transfer?  Where?  WHERE!!!!  When I'm in calendar month view, and I want to scroll a few months ahead or back, it's a pain in the arse on the Pixi!  On the Treo, I just used the 4-way D-pad to click back & forth easily; I don't want a pop-up to select the month.  Where's my beloved "today" view in the calendar?  I depended on that to summarize my day, and sometimes a few days.  A file browser on the device would be nice, instead of having to hook it up to a computer, or browse within apps.  I don't use Google document & spreadsheets because I don't always have high speed reception or WiFi, so I'm really missing Docs-to-Go; although we all know DtG was a horribly unstable program.  I didn't use Express every single day, nor every feature, but why don't we have it anymore?  I think it's unfair to have only the stocks.  Treos & Centros have both voice memo & camcorder, but I just spent $200 to NOT have either?  Really?  I feel stupid.  Although the Pixi is beautiful both physically and it's software, I have certain preferences that I would like to change.  Why?  Because it's mine and I should have the option, so where did all the customization go? *shrugs*  Finally, who else used to hide certain contacts, memos, tasks, and events?  I'm sure it isn't just me, so why in the hell is that no longer an option?  Why can I not mask what I wish?    Angry

Why in the hell would you want to BUY a program that makes your state of the art device operate like the old out of date one?  Palm really really needs to get on the ball and make this a FREE option, not a 3rd party app.  We all need ALL 100% unconditional functionality of the Treo/Centro as a standard part of the Pixi.  We've upgraded our hardware and OS, but seriously, disgustingly DOWNGRADED our software.

Test drive the Google apps online and you'll have your answer.  If you can do it from Google, you can do it from the Pixi.  There is very little similar functionality in the Pixi as compared to the Treo/Centro.  Sorry.
