OKAY!! Im gonna try and make this short as possible.. But please give your thoughts on my best options to resolve my situations..

Two weeks ago I broke my Palm Pixi. I was jogging with it in my sweater pocket along with my Helio.. They were in the same pocket(dont ask why)
So I guess all the contact they were making semi cracked the screen on the Pixi and the touch screen didnt work. So I dont have basic Sprint insurance, I have the Best Buy Geek Squad insurance.. I take it to them and they say I should get it back in around 2 weeks.. So I get it back today, a brand new one actually with all the accessories.. Yaaay!!

NOW! I go to feed my dogs, long story short somehow my Palm Pixi falls in the freaking water bucket for my pets.. UNBELIEVABLE!! I break the phone the first day I get it back!! I havent even had time to play with my toy Cry Cry

Im not familiar with Geek Squads insurance policy on breaking it again so fast after getting a brand new one.. And I really dont wanna wait another 2 weeks.. Eventhough I dont think Geek Squads protection Policy involves any deductables but they may make an exception for my situation.
My friend has Sprint and says when me jacks his phone up they give him a new one of the spot without any deductable if they cant fix it.. Im thinking if I get Sprint Protection added on my account I can just get a new one right there on the spot. But Im pretty sure I will probably have to pay a deductable of $100 because of the liquid damage that has destroyed the phone. But I dont mind paying that $100 to get a new one on the spot. Especially when the beautiful brand new phone was damaged completely by my carelessness..

But at the sametime If Best Buy allow me to return it without penalty or deductable I believe they can lend you a phone similar to the one you have with a $150 deposit.. Im in a tough spot. I dont want another phone! I want my Palm Pixi Cry (maybe they can give me a palm pre?)

Thanks!

Well that's a tough story, you shoud watch your phone Wink

But I don't know, you just have to try and see what they will tell you. I guess the phone has a liquid indicator, so maybe they will know you dropped it.
Are you sure it's broken? Have you tried to dry it for at least 24-48 hours before turning it on again?

The first thing they will do to that phone is pop it open and check the watermark to see if it has been damaged by water.  The second thing they will do is hand it back to you.

Thats a tough one to bite, because they will probably make you pay the deductible on the phone.  There are ways to revive phones from being soaked in water, you can google guides, they do work... sometimes...

The Sprint protection plan will also not hand you a new phone for physical or water damage (they would if say the phone froze and would not unlock).  You have to call the insurance company that Sprint uses, start a claim, wait for the new Pixi to come in the mail, and mail your damaged one back.  The insurance company sends the new pre out the next business day, so it shouldn't be too long of a wait, but still a wait.

Hope this helps!

Yep. The water thing is a problem. From what I have heard the Pixi has a 'moisture sensor'(basically a sticker that changes color if it gets wet, a la Litmus paper) next to the usb port, as well as one somewhere else. Depending on how much water actually got to it, you may be in luck. There have been people that have dropped their phones in large pools of water and have not had the moisture sensor get past the moisture threshold. Try the techniques found through a google search for wet phone recovery techniques(hairdryer on low,...etc.). If those don't work, cross your fingers and take it back.

That is total bummer! D: I say you go up to yr closest best buy and ask. It's worth a try then having no phone for those 2 weeks. I really hope this doesn't happen to me! I just today got my Palm Pixi and thank god I have warranty on it... because I don't have the greatest luck with phones:/

Hm, anyways. Good luck! Cheesy
