There are thousands of laws on the book already related to gun control. Nearly every crime you hear about involving firearms (crimes of passion excluded) involve guns that were obtained illegally anyways. If these guns are already illegal in the first place what good does it do to make more laws? The criminals have already broken upteen laws having the gun, what difference is another two or three to them?
My father raised me around firearms and taught us kids to be very respectful of them and how dangerous they could be when misused/mistreated. He made sure we knew exactly how to use them safely. None of them were ever locked up and several of them were always loaded. Never once was there an "accident".
I have several firearms. I am very proficient with each and every one of them. I believe that every law abiding citizen should as well.
Should everyone have a gun? Hell no, there are far to many idiots out there. I don't believe that those people should have cars either.
Just like a hammer and a screwdriver, a gun is a tool. It is what is in the wielder's heart that determines its use for good or for evil.
My two cents, you can keep the change.
I like Idaho's take on the subject. 10th Amendment all the way!
