This phone is the best phone I've ever had, and I've only had it one day.

Unfortunately, I'm addicted to a station that, like many stations online, streams in either a silverlight format or a .asx format. I'm BAFFLED that there is no media player to address this, considering the number of people who use their phones to stream Internet radio.

Does anyone know if such an app already exists? Does anyone know a workaround? I love this phone, but I will go back to my old 700wx if it means I can stream the entertainment that gets me through the work day.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, all I have to offer is the obligatory "It's a known issue.  Fix coming soon!"

Great observation.  Didn't even consider that.

I hope an answer surfaces soon.

Wish I knew how to program for WebOS. Someone could make some money if they built an app that would do it.

Now the question--do I ditch my phone on my wife and wait, or will there be a solution soon enough that I can wait it out. My bet is NOT on the latter, because I'm not really willing to go more than a week.  laugh

It just seems like such a HUGE oversight to me. They've thought of almost everything else with this phone. I think they're underestimating the number of people who use their phones to stream live media from the web, especially the number of us that have to use either custom streams or stream apps that don't magically and easily plug into some basic media player. Hence the reason that a built-in player that can simply take the URL of a .asx, Real Player, or any of the other popular formats.

<sigh> Guess I'll give the phone up to my wife and go back to the 700wx until there's a solution.
