The Touchstone is the biggest joke of an accessory known to cellular-phone-equipped man. It might be legit if it was 50% of the price. Wireless, with a wire. hmmmm. I know a guy at my Sprint store that bought 3; 1 for his house, 1 for his office, and one for his GFs house. You have got to be joking. The cover is not a big deal at all.

I agree that its over priced but i just walked into my room while talking to a friend put the phone down like it was nothing and its now charging and on speaker phone. The simplicity of all that is what makes it cool. I mean isnt the whole purpose of the smart phone just to make things a little bit easyier. I could just send email from my crappy LG voyager and probly all the other phones i've had but the palm does it a little better. Still im giving props to palm for trying new things. If you look it up most other phones docks are 20-80 bucks and the dreaded iphone is 50. So 70 for one thats just out and innovative isnt all that bad. You can get it for 50 at this link actually. Im returning mine to radio shak and ordering it off here to save some cash. http://store.precentral.net/palm-touchstone-charging-kit-dockback-cover/5A100A5628.htm

If money was not an issue (meaning if I had tons of it)... I would buy 4. 1- Nightstand 2- computer desk 3- office at work 4- car

The thing I don't like is that it doesn't come with a wall adapter. You have to use the USB and Wall charger that came with the phone.... For 70 bucks they should give you a power supply.

pppssshhh If you ask me it should come with the phone! It would also be awsome. Back to the getting the usb port cover off thing. It is way easyier to get it off with the slide up.

I'm getting upset with that little door, it is somewhat difficult to pop off, but putting it back on, it sticks out like a sore thumb. It doesn't want to pop back in place.
Not to rob the topic, but do you also find specs of dirt under your screen?

No. How are you looking under the screen?

I think it makes sense to have the port on the right hand side of the phone. Since most people are right-handed, they will hold the phone with the left hand and finger swipe with the right.
This allows for comfortably using the phone while charging with the cable.
Also, having the port on the top or bottom of the phone would interfere with browsing or reading in landscape mode which usually requires you to hold the phone with both hands on either side.
Again, I feel that the phone design was very well thought out.

Most right handed people will hold the pre with their right hand and use it with their right hand.
Holding it with left is how most lefties hold it.

This isn't really adding much but in defense of the port being on the right side of the phone, that's actually better for right-handed users to talk while charging if the port has to be on one of the sides. My old blackberry pearl had the port on the left side of the phone, really sucked to try to talk while charging with the cable sticking up out of the phone.

If you don't pull it out all the way, you risk putting too much stress on the plastic tab thingy(that's the technical term ), eventually breaking it off. And judging from the plastic used, I'd give it a month or two....unless you are just rotating it up...then it may last a little longer. Well, my USB port cover just broke off after 6 weeks of use! I like not having to fuss with opening it, but am not sue it's wise to leave it 'naked'... Should I go to Sprint to get a new port cover/repair?
