I am considering completely removing the USB port cover on the Pixi.  It is extremely difficult to pop off and the battery barely lasts a full day necessitating a recharge every night.

Has anyone done this with either this phone or a past phone?  It may ruin the "look" of the Pixi, but my irritation is more important to me than the look of my phone.

It may not only ruin the look. Keep in mind that a lot of dirt, especially dust will find the way into the phone, probably resulting in a malfunction of the port after some time. Not necessarily, just saying..

I think its easy to take off.

Slide your thumbnail between the battery cover and the slider part of the pre and use leverage to lift it up.

I'll try and get a pic up or something.

I found it to be much easier if you slide the phone open first and then try and open the cover.

Thanks all, it is much easier that way.  Now to figure out why the battery life is so horrid.

People it's like every other new phone, at first it will be hard to open, but after a while of continuously opening and closing it, it will wear a bit, and become easy to open...just be patient, it will become a little loose after a while. Wink

When I first got the phone, I honestly thought I was going to break the cover off as I tried to get it off. I didn't luckily, but mine just hasn't fit back in quite right. The side that stays connected(via the plastic 'string') doesn't lie flat like it did when I first got it, no matter how hard I press it back in. Not a big deal, just annoying.
