I don't think they do. Lots of them seem fingerprinted and somewhat scratched. Hopefully they do get some sort of coating.

Hm, don't you think the early versions that have been given away for testing already had this kind of coating? I would think so..
They're prototypes, why would a prototype carry an aesthetic feature like that? Prototypes are often kinda cheaper than final product as it's meant for limited use and display functionality.

Hm, well that's true, I don't know. Ah we will see, it's all just speculation.

I agree. IMO, I would think the earlier versions are pretty bare bones. I mean, when they popped off the battery cover, wires and crap were exposed. It's pretty much meant to show off the software and what it can do. I'm sure Palm isn't going to spend the money on all the little things like a scratch resistance covering, etc. for demo purposes.

The final build is where they make it all pretty, tie a bow around it and place a cherry on top. At least I hope.

On a side note, I own the flip mino invisible shield. A perk is that it's a lifetime guarantee. If it starts to peel off or gets messed up, you send it back and they send you a new one.

The first shield I installed on my flip mino was really hard to get on their correctly. With air bubbles and everything else, it was rough!

My flip mino's touch response hasn't really been effected by the shield, so. Eh, we'll see!

I have an invisible shield on my Touch Diamond and I don't like the feel of it anymore.  After a lot of use it feels just ...weird.  However, I got a screen cover at best buy for my iTouch and I LOVE the way it feels.  It has a matte finish on it's nice and slippery which is what I think you would want with a capacitive type touch screen.

DLO - Surface Shields for AppleĀ® iPhone 3G (5-Pack) - 18.99 at bestbuy.com

I'm 90% sure these are them.  I asked a store rep what they had for screen protectors for the iTouch and he told me to get these even though they were for the iPhone and it was definitely worth it.  The reviews are somewhat misleading.  The guy who said attracts fingerprints to easily is either crazy or meant to review a different product because these don't get fingerprints (that's half the purpose of the matte finish) and also they reduce glare.  There's a MILD rainbow effect but it's hardly noticeable and I really think it's worth it to have the nice finish on it.  Also they're really easy to put on compared to the IS.  I doubt they're going to make any for the Pixi but you could cut to fit if you're into that kinda thing...

I think it comes down to common sense. Buy a screen protector, be careful with your phone, etc. I had a Blackberry Curve that my son dropped on the concrete... it caused 3 pretty noticeable scratches. I got another Curve since then, but am making sure that I take care of it.

I think I'm going to make a hybrid.

I think I'm going to IS the body of my phone and then hit the screen with a slicker screen protector.

My friend has a screen protector on his iPhone and it doesn't have that grip on the screen that won't be great for a capacitive screen.

That's what I'm saying!  The protector I was reffering to (the DLO one) has a nice feeling slippery surface unlike the IS more grippy surface.  I hope SOME company makes a nice feeling screen protector.  Depending on what cases come out I'll most likely be covering the rest of the phone with the IS however.
