The Palm Pixi powered by Palm WebOS is getting closer to hit store shelves. An exact Palm Pixi release date will be announced soon.

If you check out our list of the hottest phones coming in May, there is no Palm Pixi. Why? Because it wasn't likely that the Palm Pixi would actually be released in May at the time of posting. If you ask us, the exact Palm Pixi release date will be officially announced several weeks in advance. Major releases tend to enter a pre-order stage before hitting store shelves, with the most recent of those being the T-Mobile Sidekick LX 2009.

That article by Info Sync is a no brainer. if it is going to be released in the first half, of course it will be announced soon.  But I also disagree on their opinion that the new Iphone won't affect sales much on the Pixi.  People leave carriers no matter if they are under contract or not.  especially when it is pro-rated.

I am unfortunately one of those people.  I have a buddy who has the Iphone and I was blown away by the Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and Yahoo Messenger applications.  As well as Podcasting abilities. They seemed so seemless and designed perfectly.  I just do not like some of the limitations of the OS but 3.0 is changing that.  Still can't multitask but will have push notifications in text, audio and badge notifications.  Plus it seems like it is multi-tasking even though it isn't. 

This will be a tough choice if the new hardware is a step up and has 16GB or more.  Still interested in Pixi but Iphone and Touch Pro2 are in the running as well.

You know, I actually feel the same way, I'm not a Palm fanboy Wink But so far, even with iPhone 3.0 announced, Palm wins the race. I just have to look at the first videos again, especially the notifications, multitasking and the calendar, and I know why again. (Remember the screenshot comparisons?).

A friend of mine has an iPhone 16GB, and he said he uses 8GB maximum, including all the apps and music. So I'm not so worried about that anymore. But I'm still interested in what the competitors, especially Apple, will do.

Even if I wasn't stuck on Sprint I would probably get a Pixi anyways. The iPhone doesn't bother me one bit and I actually think if they release it when the iPhone is unveiled there will be more Pixis for the hardcore followers like us.

But of course that would probably be the end of Palm and horrible sales. *sigh*

yes but as you said, it would be the destruction of palm.  But i think they are doing it anyway.  Just read the comments on recent articles. People are starting to get upset with Palm and losing patience. I have gut gut feeling that the pre is not going to be as big of hit as eveyone thought it would.  I hope I am wrong but it is just the fell I get from reading Pixi articles from non-Pixi sites and looking at all the negative comments from people who want the Pixi, but getting tired of the waiting game.
