If the rumors of June 7th being launch are true, this could mean serious trouble for Palm and their Pixi. The WWDC is June 8th-12th. And what to expect to hit the public at that event? iPhone OS 3.0, new iPhone models.

Why do I think this is bad? Because this doesn't give people enough time to fall in love with the Pixi. You're going to have a lot of people just go for the new iPhone because they're more comfortable/familiar with it and the extensive third-party support. Personally, I'm pretty anti-iPhone for logical reasons. And I'm sure there are others out there. But those others span different target markets like BB loyalists, Android loyalists, WinMo loyalists, SERO users that refuse to switch, etc. Palm wanted to try and target non-PDA users with the Pixi, but with the new iPhone so close, the new iPhone will steal their thunder because people are more familiar with it.

I hope these delays aren't the nails in Palm's coffin.

Yeah, this is exactly why June is to late! People will wait for and be excited about the all new iPhone. "What great stuff will Apple give us?" I just hope Palm people know what they are doing...

every flippin person has heard of the Iphone,, I think I know maybe 3 people who have heard of the Pixi,,, bad plan,, Iphone ( imo ) will steal Pixis thunder

Yeah not good...

Palm went away and showed Apple everything they did wrong and then gave them enough time to fix it. Then Palm went ahead and let the iPhone come out a few days after the Pixi (supposedly with launch rumors) so that Apple can land a better version of the iPhone with new software...

Exactly what Rillo said. They pretty much said "Here Apple, this is what we got, you should do this too. It's fun!" If the Pixi came out on May 17th I think it would be fine. But now these talks of June 7th I think with the Apple WWDC Palm is making a rather large mistake and a problem for themselves.

Some people are hoping that the new iPhone will only be announced and not released until several months later. If this is the case, this could be good for Palm.

People will still wait to see what it's going to have to offer. This would hurt first day sales. Maybe that's what Plam is hoping for, if they do have a short supply. If they have waited this long and do not have enough stock to meet demands...that will not be good.

I tell you what, I love what I've seen with the Pixi so far but they are d***ing around too much. You can't deny that.

Just the announcement of a new iPhone will make the masses excited.

They could release the 3G in new colors and the common person would pick it over the Pixi.

All I Know at this point, is every time I refresh my google palm pre search, it seems the articles about the phone are getting meaner and meaner.

Talk about kicking a dog when it's down.

But, I like underdogs.
