OK, Watched the Video but can't seem to find a Putty Manager for Mac OS X  Angry
Does anyone know of one? OR what can I do  Sad

Not that I know of..the video you saw was probably for windows usere..I think there is actually a guide ( not video) for mac users.

who and how can i get someone to do these things to my pre?!?! and was exactly is "rooting". is there anywhere one here that explains how these things can be done and what the potential risks are for error?

seth, check out the forum over at precentral.net for a lot of the technical help.  check the forum on homebrew apps - it will give you instructions on how to root and how to do a lot of this stuff to your phone.  "rooting" isn't bad as long as you aren't intentionally malicious.  it basically means you put in the developer code at the home screen on the pre: type "upupdowndownleftrightleftrightbastart" and you get an icon that unlocks developer mode.  then, download the latest java and virtualbox along with the palm mojo sdk.  you will install novacom in the process which allows you to go into the linux "root" of the phone - which allows you to see all the file systems on the pre.  a lot of the changes you saw were just updating the picture files for the html view of the applications.  once you at least get the stuff downloaded and your phone "rooted" let me know if you need steps from there.  if you can't get that far let me know and i'll give you more details.
