Hey look, I actually voted on something and it made a difference... oh wait my phone doesn't have an update yet... crap! Good poll though, I am really curious to see how important itunes is to the majority of pre owners.

I voted for somewhat. I basically use it because it's what I'm used to. I don't need it though. I've started using Media Monkey again and would be fine if I had to use that instead.

I just don't understand why Palm doesn't wok with Amazon and develop an Itunes-like interface to sync their WebOS phones. They are obviously investing in the OS quite a bit and if they really are thinking it's 'the future of Palm', it seems only right that they would have a way to sync the damn thing without just using it as a USB drive and dragging and dropping files into their respective folders. Plus, they could make it so the Ipod users could use it as well. The problem with most Apple users is that they don't know any better. As a whole Itunes is not that great. The Ipod is not the best MP3 player out their...but it's the most popular. If Palm makes a sync program that mirrors Itunes ease of use and adds a few more flashy bits, they may sway some of the Ipod users. Iphone/Ipod touch users would still use Itunes, due to the whole apps thing. I doubt Palm would be able to get Apple to sign off on allowing Apple Apps in the Palm Store, seeing as Apple doesn't even want Palm using their software to sync music and videos that were bought from them in the first place.

This software would be a bigger F' You to Apple than simply fixing the Sync issue, only to have it negated in the following Itunes update. It would be like saying 'Fine, we tried to throw some cutomers your way...but since you didn't want them, we'll just take some of yours.' It would be even better if they would work with Media Monkey to create a special 'Palm Edition' of MM.

I like my Windows Media Player 11.  I really have not tried many of the other alternatives out there but I have tried iTunes and really did not care for it.  Apple can take their elitist attitudes and rot.  I am not going to support a company that wants me to do things the way they think I should.  Then again, its what I have come to expect from a company that promotes their product by playing on the fears and ignorance of their potential customers.  Then again I am pretty biased against people copping a "better than you" attitude. lol  PlaysForSure for me!

I am going to have to find happier subject to post to.  I think I am coming across as negative and anti-social and that just isn't me.  DAMN YOU APPLE!!!  All hail the mighty Pixi!

i stay as far away from apple products as possible.  i like how they went from the big brotherish ad back in the 80's to becoming a big brother type entity themselves.  apple != openness!

I do not care at this point about ITunes. If Apple wants to make it difficult for me to use the device I want, then I will not use ITunes. I have many other options for getting music to my pre, so enough already lets get the update out. So many more important things that need to be updated. Angry

I did like my iPod, until I got the PRE which has replaced it as my primary music source, but then again, I never really tried any other mp3 players. iTunes is annoying because of how invasive it is, I hate software that just takes over my computer, associates itself with every possible file extension, and bugs me constantly with updates...wait, that sounds like Windows too, oh well...  Cry
